(NewsNation) — It may not be spooky season yet, but tariffs may have already frightened some of the Halloween fun away.
Spirit Halloween announced it won't be holding its annual grand opening the retailer's flagship store in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, because of "international disruptions and supply chain challenges."
Though the continent's largest Halloween retailer didn't explicitly mention tariffs when announcing the decision, the pop-up shop outsourced costume manufacturing to locations in Asia, per Dragon Sourcing. President Donald Trump's legally contested tariffs have mainly targeted China.
Despite the event's cancellation, the company clarified it is far from the cemetery.
