ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A man has been accused of trying to drown his mother and her dogs at a Palmyra home.
On May 13, officers with the Palmyra Police Department responded to a home on Gates Street. Officers said an off-duty deputy tried to intervene, but he was attacked by the suspect, Takota Spencer.
It was alleged that Spencer restrained his mother, placed his hand over her mouth and nose, and tried to submerge her in a bathtub of water. Officers said he was trying to "release the demons" from her body.
Furthermore, after she freed herself, Spencer allegedly tried to drown her dogs and threw his mother's phone in the bathtub to stop her from calling 911.
Spencer was arrested and charged with first-degree unlawful imprisonment, first-degree reckless endangerment, third and fourth-
