PHOENIX — Logan Lisle is trying not to get hit by a home run.

Normally, that wouldn't be a problem at Chase Field. A typical baseball game doesn't have dozens of home runs. But here, during batting practice...it's like they're aiming for him.

"We're in the outfield right now," Lisley said into his phone.

His manager is trying to find him in the ballpark as another ball ricochets off the nearest rail and into the Diamondbacks' famous pool.

"I need to be telling a dad joke and the ball just lands in the mug," Lisle said, holding his signature, but empty, coffee mug.

The moment seemed surreal to Lisle.

"Never in a million years would I think I'd be at a Diamondbacks game telling dad jokes," he said, sitting next to the pool with his back to the field.
