MAYNARD, Ark. (KATV) — A Maynard man has been arrested after the Randolph County Sheriff's Office (RCSO) requested the assistance of the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) on May 29 in regards to a homicide that took place in the 2900 block of Pitman Road in Maynard.

RCSO received a call from 47-year-old Christopher Lee Borreson of Maynard who told them that he had been shot. During the call, Borreson succumbed to his injuries.

After their investigation, CID Special Agents arrested 30-year-old Joshua Kane Smith of Maynard on charges of First-Degree Murder for his connection with Borreson's death.

Smith was taken to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he is currently being held.
