There was more tension in the Paramount Theatre during the discussion of the war in Gaza than any other portion of U.S. Sen. Peter Welch's community meeting Wednesday.

The audience resisted the moderator's first attempt to change the subject — and Welch decided to respond rather than let his aide move the discussion elsewhere — and it produced more shouting and more muttering that I could hear than the other subjects that night.
