COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost joined seven other attorneys general in getting a permanent ban against a Texas-based robocaller.

According to the release, Joe Spiller was found in contempt of court by a federal judge. The magistrate permanently banned Spiller from launching any future telecommunication companies.

He's also barred from collaborating with those who helped with his robocalling ventures.

Spiller has been ordered to pay more than $600,000 in attorney's fees and costs for violating a court order that stopped him from making robocallers. He owned Rising Eagle Capital Group, JSquared Telecom, and Rising Eagle Capital Group-Cayman - all of which offered services to telemarketers.
