RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - A 70-year-old man has been convicted of lewdness with a child under the age of 14 after he was charged with sexually abusing and lewdly touching a 6-year-old girl.

Joseph Greco now faces life in prison.

Deputies with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office received a report on March 5, 2023 regarding the sexual abuse of the victim. When police arrived, the parents of the victim said that while visiting Reno, a person saw Greco putting his hand down the child’s pants.

When the victim’s father asked the girl if she had been touched in a way that had made her uncomfortable, she said that she had, and that Greco, who was known to her, had committed the act. The victim also disclosed additional times where Greco had sexually abused her, both in Reno and in another state.
