Nevada State Police have issued a warning about an email scam today posing as “The DMV,” telling the recipient that they have received a traffic ticket.

Nevada Highway Patrol in a news release said it has been contacted several times regarding the scam.

The email tells recipients that they have received a ticket from Nevada Highway Patrol and that they must pay, further threatening that failure to comply will result in additional fines and license suspensions.

Highway patrol reminds that it will not call, text or email requesting or threatening over paying fines nor request personal information over the phone, text or internet.
