A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run early this morning, according to a Metro Police news release.
The collision occurred on West Flamingo Road, west of Las Vegas Boulevard South, at about 3:30 a.m., the release stated.
A 29-year-old was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a BMW X5. The vehicle did not stop and continued driving, the release stated.
Arriving medical personnel determined the pedestrian was beyond resuscitation and he died at the scene.
Officers later found the BMG abandoned and unoccupied away from the collision scene.
The collision remains under investigation.
