INDIANAPOLIS — A man was sentenced to 64 years in prison for the murder and robbery of a man on the east side of Indianapolis nearly three years ago.

Charles Robinson was convicted in April of two counts of murder and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury for the death of Gene White. Officers found White lying outside his car with a stab wound in the 1200 block of Redbrook Court, near 10th Street and North Mitthoefer Road, on Aug. 21, 2022.

Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Nearly a year after the crime, a forensic scientist notified police they found a DNA match to Robinson from blood found in White's vehicle.
