AFFTON — Seth Valley had no fear in trying again.
After bunting a 2-1 pitch foul over the backstop, the Sullivan senior center fielder tried to lay another one down.
This one was successful, just beyond the outstretched glove of Lutheran South reliever Mason Beshears, to bring home the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning of the Eagles’ 3-2 win over the Lancers in the teams’ Class 4 baseball sectional at South’s Pfund Pfield.
“It’s stressful, man,” Valley said. “It’s my senior year, so if I got out, I didn’t know how this thing would go. So, I’m glad I finally got it down and we scored. It’s a big relief.”
