CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Riding a bike this summer could not only improve your health but also support vital research in the fight against heart disease and stroke.
The American Heart Association encourages individuals to take up cycling as a way to enhance heart health, reduce stroke risk and manage weight and blood pressure.
Taylor Meyer, Development Director at the American Heart Association, highlighted the benefits of cycling and introduced CycleNation, an event scheduled for the fall.
"It's a 2-hour stationary cycling event on Fountain Square. It's about 8 people per bike but it really focuses on strokes. So, 80% of strokes are preventable, so getting people to understand how they can prevent these strokes and overall brain health," said Meyer.
