College Station, Texas (KBTX) - Brazos County Commissioners say its Inner East Loop study is looking at the possibility of a new roadway looping eastern Bryan and College Station to improve connectivity.

The project has come under heavy scrutiny with some residents saying it risks homes, farmland, and could disrupt the environment.

College Station resident Lloyd Davis told KBTX he believes the project expands too far into residential areas.

“Instead of coming down Fitch, go a mile-and-a-half, two miles further and join the planned I-214 loop,” Davis suggested. “There is no need for an inner loop. The benefits of the inner loop to College Station are zero.”
