The two escapees from the May 16 jailbreak at the Orleans Justice Center who were apprehended in Texas earlier this week are back in custody in Louisiana, Louisiana State Police confirmed Friday.

Leo Tate, 31, and Jermaine Donald, 42, were captured Monday by the Texas Department of Public Safety in Walker County, Texas. State Police said on social media that the two men have since been transported back to Louisiana and are now being held in "secure" facilities but did not specify where.

The six other recaptured inmates are are now incarcerated at Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola, a maximum security facility.

Tate and Donald were part of a group of ten inmates who escaped from the New Orleans jail in what officials have described as a coordinated breach of pod 1-D.
