(WNDU) - We’ve been covering the new changes coming to Indiana’s Rule 19 , which will allow high school athletes to transfer schools once and be granted immediate eligibility.

Previously, if a student transferred schools, they would have to sit out one calendar year, missing all three sports seasons. Now for a first-time transfer, as long as the student isn’t a senior, they will be immediately eligible to play sports at their new school. Think of it like the transfer portal in college sports.
