According to a news release, State Senator Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) has introduced a new bill that could authorize a property tax reduction for certain owner-occupied homes.

The introduced bill, Senate Bill 206, would provide a 50 percent reduction in property taxes for a homeowner who is 65-years-old or older during each year that they apply for the reduction.

The bill does not require an income threshold to be met in order for a homeowner to qualify.

"Providing property tax relief for older Ohioans decreases the stress places on homeowners and allows our neighbors to stay in the communities they've invested so much into," said Sentator Cutrona.
