For the 59 th consecutive time , they passed with flying colors.
Jackson Syring and Ian Montz hit back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning as the Pilots erased a season-high four-run deficit and captured the NAIA World Series championship with a 13-7 victory against Southeastern (Fla.) at Harris Field on Friday.
At the start of the season, the Pilots’ goal was to capture the school’s first baseball crown. In the end, it’s incredibly a footnote – or simply the coup de grace – to the most remarkable season in college baseball history.
In terms of wins and losses, LSUS became the first to record – literally -- a perfect season.
