BLOOMINGTON, IL — No. 9 Texas Lutheran softball’s season came to an end Friday night at the Division-III Women’s College World Series, falling to No. 11 Redlands, 2-0.
Texas Lutheran (44-5) fell behind early after the Bulldogs (40-10) scored two runs in the bottom of the first.
Texas Lutheran attempted to rally throughout but would strand eight runners on base on Friday. The Bulldogs best opportunity came in the fifth following a leadoff, pinch-hit double from Missy Muras (La Grange/La Grange) the Bulldogs would load the bases but nothing would come of it as they would strand the bases loaded. Back-to-back two out walks in the seventh gave the Bulldogs one final opportunity to get on the board but Redlands was able to work out of the jam yet again to bring the Bulldogs season to a close.
