A man was killed in a shooting after a group of people got into an argument in Kansas City’s Marlborough Heights neighborhood Friday, police said.

Officers responded around 8:45 p.m. to 82nd Terrace and Troost Avenue after multiple callers reported the sound of gunshots in the area, said Sgt. Phil DiMartino, a police spokesperson.

Another caller reported seeing a man laying in the road near 8200 Tracy Avenue, DiMartino said. When officers arrived, they found a man in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers provided medical aid while paramedics were en route. The man was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police have not yet publicly identified the man who was killed.
