WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help finding three people connected to a shooting in Southwest D.C.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened in the 400 block of M Street, Southwest, just before 4 p.m. Thursday.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot multiple times. He was conscious and breathing when help arrived and took him to an area hospital for help. Police described the man's injuries as life-threatening on Friday night.

A day after the shooting, police released photos of three people of interest connected to the shooting. One of the persons of interest appears to be riding a scooter in the images captured by surveillance cameras.

Police have not said if there is any clear motive in the shooting at this time.
