HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - Former state senator Philip Moran was indicted by a grand jury on bribing a witness and conspiracy. His son, convicted sex offender Alan Moran, was also indicted on the same charges.

The District Attorney’s office confirmed with WLOX News that an investigation was underway before the case was brought to a grand jury, but could not comment on details because of the active status of the case.

The two charges are the latest racked up by the younger Moran.

A month ago, a Waveland municipal judge found him guilty of stalking a 19-year-old Lowe’s employee in November 2024.

In the months following the stalking crime, two 23-year-olds were arrested on felony bribing a witness .
