Accusing all of Maryland and D.C., as well as dozens of Virginia counties and cities of breaking federal immigration law, the Department of Homeland Security threatened each area with a "formal notification from immigration authorities" Friday.
The list released on a Homeland Security webpage alleges dozens of places inside the DMV area of "deliberately and shamefully obstructing the enforcement of federal immigration laws." In addition to D.C. and Maryland, 13 other U.S. states were listed as breaking the law with their immigration policies.
