WASHINGTON — Saturday, a D.C. teen says she’s fighting for what she believes is right while using music as the medium to get her message across.

Fifteen-year-old Augusta Smith took months to organize ‘Break the Current’. A gathering steered towards teens and an outlet for those unhappy with today’s world held at St. Stephen and the Incarnation Episcopal Church.

"I’ve always had this sense of something needs to happen. There are problems in the world that need to be solved, and it is up to us, the people of the world, to solve them," Augusta said. “Events like these that just help people understand, learn more, realize they can do something even if it’s on a small level. I think that needs to happen more.”
