HYDERABAD, India — Opal Suchata Chuangsri from Thailand has been crowned Miss World 2025 during a dazzling ceremony held in India on Saturday. The event took place in the vibrant city of Hyderabad, where Chuangsri triumphed over a competitive field of 108 contestants from around the globe.
Hasset Dereje Admassu of Ethiopia earned the title of first runner-up in the prestigious pageant. Chuangsri was presented with her crown by last year's winner, Krystyna Pyszková, marking a significant moment in her journey.
The 72nd edition of the Miss World beauty pageant was hosted by Miss World 2016, Stephanie del Valle, alongside Indian presenter Sachiin Kumbhar. This year’s event continued India's tradition of hosting the competition, as the country also welcomed the pageant last year.
In the competition, India's Nandini Gupta made it to the final 20 but did not advance further. Historically, India has seen success in the Miss World pageant, with six Indian women having previously won the title. Notable winners include Reita Faria in 1966, Aishwarya Rai in 1994, Diana Hayden in 1997, Yukta Mookhey in 1999, Priyanka Chopra in 2000, and Manushi Chillar in 2017.
The event celebrated beauty, talent, and cultural diversity, showcasing contestants from various backgrounds and countries. Chuangsri's victory adds to Thailand's growing reputation in international beauty competitions.
