CHICAGO (WGN) — According to Chicago Police Department sources and a report reviewed by WGN News, a man was taken into custody after an alleged sexual assault at gunpoint on a CTA Blue Line train Thursday night.

According to sources, officers responded to the Western stop at 430 South Western Avenue just before 11:30 p.m. for a report of a person with a gun. When officers arrived, a witness pointed toward a man on the platform and identified him as the person with a gun.

The suspect, a 30-year-old man, veered behind a metal platform to hide from officers, but was taken into custody. A gun was recovered near the train tracks, sources said. The man, who is being held, has not been charged.
