WASHINGTON — DC Police were asking for help Saturday in tracking down the man their detectives believe shot and killed a woman in Southeast D.C.

Mercury Ford, 20, from Southeast D.C. is wanted for killing Tequila Parker, a 32-year-old woman, on Tuesday. Ford had an open arrest warrant for first-degree murder while armed for the shooting with officers releasing his mugshot Saturday.

Police said the shooting happened on the 2300 block of Pitts Place Southeast. Parker had been unconscious and was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting.

Witnesses apparently told officers that Parker and Ford had been involved with in an "ongoing dispute," which eventually escalated into a fight. Chief Pamela Smith said Tuesday, days before Ford had been identified, that she did not believe the shoot
