A 70-year-old Hauser man died Saturday morning after his motorcycle collided with a water truck on Spirit Lake Cutoff Road in Bonner County.

The fatal crash occurred at about 10:19 a.m. near Beare Road, according to Idaho State Police.

Police said the man was northbound on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Spirit Lake Cutoff Road when he failed to negotiate a curve, lost control and crossed into the southbound lane. The motorcycle then struck the water truck, which was southbound on Spirit Lake Cutoff.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet but was pronounced dead at the scene, ISP troopers said.

Next of kin has been notified. ISP does not release the names of those involved in accidents.
