INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indiana Pacers have reached the NBA Finals for the first time in 25 years after defeating the New York Knicks 125-108 in Game 6 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
This marks the Pacers’ second NBA Finals appearance, with their last one occurring in 2000. The team will face the Oklahoma City Thunder, who had a regular season record of 68-14, in the finals starting Thursday, June 5.
“30 teams have one goal to win an NBA championship,” Pacers analyst Jeremiah Johnson said during an appearance on Daybreak. “To remain the Pacers in thunder and to be playing basketball in June. That is what they’re going to be able to do in this NBA final series.”
