Including Warren County on the list of "sanctuary jurisdictions" released by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) last week was an "unfounded designation," according to the Warren County sheriff, who is seeking an immediate public retraction.

DHS published a list of cities, counties and states on Thursday that it says are "deliberately and shamefully obstructing the enforcement of federal immigration laws." Warren County is one of many jurisdictions nationwide saying it was included in error.
