AUBURN — Auburn baseball is verging on its first NCAA Super Regional appearance in three seasons. And if it gets there, it'll have made program history.
The No. 4 overall seed in this year's NCAA Tournament, the Tigers beat 3-seed Stetson 8-5 on Saturday, punching their ticket to an NCAA Regional championship. They'll square off with 2-seed North Carolina State on Sunday, (7 p.m. CT, ESPN+) which beat the Hatters 17-12 earlier in the day to advance.
Should Auburn lose, it'll get one more game against the Wolfpack on Monday to determine the regional winner. If it can shut the door Sunday, it'll host the winner of this year's Conway Regional in the first Super Regional at Plainsman Park.
