AUBURN — After surviving another lower-seeded mid-major, Auburn baseball had nothing to do but sit and wait.
The Tigers, who own the No. 4 overall seed in this year's NCAA Tournament, beat 3-seed Stetson on Saturday in their NCAA Regional , winning 8-5 and punching their ticket to the regional championship, which begins Sunday. ( 7 p.m., ESPN+ )
Before that contest is played, however, the Hatters and 2-seed North Carolina State had to determine the Tigers' opponent. That ultimately went the way of the Wolfpack, which bounced Stetson in a run-filled 17-12 contest.
Auburn is positioned favorably for what'd be a historic victory. Should it win Sunday, it'll host the winner of this year's Conway Regional next weekend in the first-ever Super Regional at Plainsman Park . Shoul
