HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) sent out a warning to the public about a fake text message scam.
According to a Facebook post from PennDOT, they are warning the public to watch out for fake messages claiming to be from PennDOT or the DMV. The department also says not to click on any links.
They warn that these texts could be scams to try and steal your personal information.
PennDOT says they do not send text messages about violations or fines.
Moving forward, if you receive these scam text messages, you can report them to the Federal Trade Commission and/or the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center.
