ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Alexandria Police arrested a man after they said he attempted to abduct two women walking from a Metro trains Friday. One of them was with a child.

The first incident happened at around 8 p.m. at the Potomac Yard Metro station. Detectives said Jeffrey Gary, 35, approached and assaulted a woman with a 4-year-old girl.

“This was the act of a coward, a targeted attack and attempt to do harm to a woman.” Police Chief Tarrick McGuire said.

The second incident was caught on camera. It happened at the Braddock Metro Station at around 9:40 p.m.

Public safety cameras appear to capture Gary as he approached the woman. She was also able to get away and call police.
