MOUNTAIN VIEW, N.C. ( WBTV /Gray News) - At least 12 people were shot in a shooting at a party at a North Carolina home early Sunday morning, according to authorities.

The shooting happened around 12:45 a.m. on June 1 at a home on Walnut Acres Drive, which is a neighborhood street not far off Highway 127 in Catawba County.

Deputies say 12 victims had been reported. Of those 12, one person has died, one person is in critical condition, and 10 others have serious injuries, according to the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office .

Officials said that the ages of the victims varied in age.

Along with the sheriff’s office, the Hickory Police Department and North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation were called to the house.
