Alexandria, VA – A joint investigation between the Alexandria Police Department (APD) and the Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD) has led to the arrest of Jeffrey Gary , 35, of Fairfax County, in connection with two violent assaults that occurred Friday evening near Metro stations in Alexandria.

Gary has been charged by Alexandria Police with Assault & Battery and Abduction under Code of Virginia §18.2-47, after allegedly attacking a woman shortly after 9:40 p.m. in the 1100 block of Madison Street, near the Braddock Metro Station.

According to authorities, the victim—described as a woman in her mid-30s—had just exited the Metro station when she was approached from behind. The suspect reportedly grabbed her and attempted to restrain her by wrestling her to the ground. She was a
