The Virginia Wesleyan University softball team (49-4-1, 21-1 ODAC) is heading to the NCAA Division III Championship Series after defeating Randolph-Macon 3-1 in the national semifinals. The win secures the Marlins a spot in the best-of-three series, where they’ll face Trine with a national title on the line.

Sarah Prosser powered the Marlins' offense, going 1-for-4 with a double and driving in two crucial runs. Joslyn Woodard was a spark at the plate as well, finishing 2-for-3 with a run scored and one RBI. Laci Campbell added to the effort, going 2-for-4 with a double.

In the circle, Hannah Hearl was dominant. The junior right-hander threw a complete game, allowing just three hits and one earned run while striking out one across seven innings.
