ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A ShotSpotter activation on Garson Avenue led to a chase and arrest, according to the Rochester Police Department.
The ShotSpotter activation happened early Monday morning, around 12:40 a.m., near Kingston Street. There were no reported injuries related to the ShotSpotter activation.
Officers said they found a 28-year-old man close to where the activation was, and when they approached him, he ran off. They chased him and detained him on Grand Avenue. A loaded pistol was found in the area of Garson Avenue and Kingston Street.
The suspect, whose name was not revealed, has been charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
