STARKVILLE, Miss. (WLBT) - Mississippi State has a new baseball coach.
Sunday night, Mississippi State Athletics announced that Brian O’Connor would be taking over as head baseball coach.
The announcement comes down shortly after the Bulldogs fell to Florida State in the NCAA Regional, ending their postseason bid.
Brandon Langlois, senior associate athletic director for Communications and Creative, said MSU will “formally introduce Coach O’Connor at a public welcome event set for 7 p.m. CT on Thursday at Dudy Noble Field.”
O’Connor previously was the head coach of the Virginia Cavaliers, where he led the school to its first NCAA national title in 2015, the Cavaliers’ website states.
