VINTON, La. — A Louisiana jockey was arrested Saturday following an investigation into cheating allegations at the Delta Downs Racetrack and Casino in Calcasieu Parish, authorities said
Investigators with the Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division took Ricardo Hernandez-Perez, 41, of Vinton, Louisiana, into custody after allegedly attempting to discard a battery-operated shocking device while fleeing from troopers conducting post-race checks.
According to state police, Hernandez-Perez tried to remove and hide the device in a horse stall after the races concluded. He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.
