MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WEVV) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is warning Kentuckians about fraudulent text messages.
Officials say the scam messages impersonate state agencies and include suspicious links that resemble official Kentucky government website addresses.
KYTC says the texts falsely warn customers about unpaid traffic tickets and claim that a “DMV violation” will be reported.
Officials remind the public that the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet does not collect traffic ticket fees or notify customers of violations.
