Darren Herring and Tracy Gaiten’s relationship has been marked by place since the day they met.
Herring, a 35-year-old Army major from New Orleans, told QCity Metro he had a feeling Gaiten, a 31-year-old educator, would be in his life beyond their chance Las Vegas meeting in 2015.
“The relationship, for me, started the night we met,” he laughed. Though Gaiten said they didn’t become a couple until 2017, Herring said he knew early on that she would be his wife.
The two have traveled the world together, flow hundreds of thousands of miles between them and have been able to prioritize their long-distance relationship despite moves, multiple deployments and often being separated by timezone and continent.
Now, the two are counting down to their wedding day. The nuptials are set for August
