LAWRENCE, Mo. (KCTV) - Two men were hospitalized over the weekend after an argument ended with both of them injured.

According to Douglas County arrest reports, 31-year-old Keenan S. Gainous was arrested shortly after 9 p.m. on June 1. He is accused of getting in an argument with another man near 6th Street and Michigan and stabbing him.

In a post, the Lawrence Police Department said when officers arrived at the scene, they found several people standing outside. Gainous was there with a large head injury, and another man had a stab wound on his leg.

After a “lengthy investigation,” police said they determined that Gainous was the aggressor. Officers believe he got the gash on his head while the victim was defending himself after being stabbed. It’s unclear what led up to the stabbing
