John Brenkus, the six-time Emmy award winning host of ESPN's "Sport Science" has passed away at 54 years old.
His family announced his passing in a post to X on Sunday evening and explained that he had been battling depression.
"John lost his fight with this terrible illness on May 31st, 2025," the post read. "His heartbroken family and friends request privacy at this time, and encourage anyone who is struggling with depression to seek help."
Brenkus co-founded Base Productions and founded Brinx.TV. He served as the co-creator and host of "Sport Science," which aired from 2007 to 2017 first on Fox Sports Network and then later on ESPN.
