MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. — Work has begun on building a new ballot tabulation center in Maricopa County that is expected to open before the 2028 presidential election.
A ground breaking ceremony was recently held for a four-story facility in downtown Phoenix near Chase Field that will house election functions conducted by the county's board of supervisors and recorder's office.
Upon completion, county officials said the building will double the county's tabulation capacity, triple its warehouse space and improve the speed of getting election results. The facility will include centers to support in-person voting, observation viewing areas, a space for the media to conduct election coverage and an area to train election workers.
