MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WEVV) — A new closure went into effect Monday along a portion of the I-69 Improvement project in Madisonville.

The left lane of both the north and southbound section of the roadway will be blocked through the end of the week between Island Ford Road at the 116 mile marker and the 113.8 mile point, just south of Center Street (KY 70). Crews will be working along the median through this section to replace guardrail and update crash cushions.

The closures are expected to be lifted by the end of the week.

The work is part of the ongoing $10 million interstate improvement project along a 4.34-mile section of I-69 in Madisonville.

The entire work zone stretches from the 113.8 mile point to the KY 2657/Fowler Road overpass (118.15 mp).
