A woman in Copiah County lost her life when her vehicle left the road, collided with a tree, and caught on fire just after midnight on Sunday.
According to Trooper Mayfield, the incident happened at approximately 12:02 a.m. on Sunday, June 1.
MHP responded to a single-vehicle crash on MS-27 near Camp Lane in Copiah County.
The 2021 Ford Bronco was being driven by 42-year-old Mary Ellen Hux of New Hebron, Mississippi.
She was driving southbound on the road when her vehicle ran off the road.
The crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
