Nonprofit arts and culture programs contributed nearly three-quarters of a billion dollars to the Valley’s economy in 2022, a study found.

The Arts & Economic Prosperity Study conducted by the nonprofit Americans for the Arts found the city of Phoenix received $450 million in economic activity in 2022 from nonprofit arts and culture programs, Tempe had $103 million, Scottsdale $79 million, Mesa $35 million, Chandler $12 million and the West Valley — which includes Avondale, Buckeye, El Mirage, Glendale, Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Peoria, Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise, Tolleson, Wickenburg and Youngtown — had $31 million. That totals nearly $711 million for the region.
