BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — A man was arrested Monday after Boone County deputies said he ran over a woman and killed her last month.
Henry Ray Aliff, 65, is charged with murder in the May 26 death of Sarah Callender, 61, along Seng Creek near Whitesville, according to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they were initially called to the scene for a single-vehicle crash with a possible ejection, but were able to “clearly determine” through her visible injuries that Callender – who was found dead outside the vehicle – had actually been run over.
Aliff was hospitalized with unrelated medical issues until Monday when he was released and arrested by deputies.
The sheriff’s office said Callender and Aliff had been in a relationship for several years.
