CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Charleston Police are asking for your help to name two new horses joining their Mounted Patrol team.
The police department wants the public to vote on names for the two new horses.
For the first horse, the choices are “Vince,” a creative nod to artist Vincent van Gogh, inspired by the horse’s unique ear notch; or “Rucker,” a tribute to singer and Charleston’s own Darius Rucker.
For the second, the choices are “Joe,” as in “a cup of Joe,” referencing the mount’s coffee-coloring; or “Riley,” honoring a family name of a generous supporter as well as longtime Charleston Mayor Joe Riley.
Charleston Police released a video introducing the two new mounts.
