POSSESSION SOUND, Wash. — The bodies of two of three people presumed dead after their boat sank in Possession Sound last month were recovered on Saturday.
Everett police said the group was shrimping when their vessel began to take on water just off Howarth Park around 1 p.m.
On May 21, one of the four people on the boat – a man in his 50s -- was rescued by passing boaters. The man said three people on the boat were unaccounted for: the boat owner -- a man in his 60s -- the boat owner's son in his 20s, and the boat owner’s coworker, a woman in her 40s.
The U.S. Coast Guard, along with the Everett Fire Department, Everett police, and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, were involved in the search for the missing boaters, which was suspended at 10:45 p.m.
